I've seen several journal entries lately regarding revamping textures, polygons, etc. to work properly on low end video hardware. Speaking as someone with high end equipment (2.6Ghz P4 @2.8, 1GB PC3200 Ram, Radeon X800 XT), I would greatly appreciate if the high end textures remain as an option in the game for those with hardware capable of supporting it. I am in no way suggesting that low end systems get ignored, just that options be maintained to make the most out of modern hardware. Personally, I always like to see new games come out with graphics settings that can go beyond the current generation of hardware, as I find myself revisiting some of these games a few upgrades down the road.

le that it would take to implement that boggles my mind.  That'd be like putting an entirely different game inside of GalCiv2.

aphics created a great atmosphere. They wern't anything too special. For instance you could see the wake behind your ship, sometimes you'ld see dolphins jumping out in front. Just the little things that make it enjoyable.

lCiv 2 is exactly because it is a game that runs on low-end hardware and is still fun.
